Papillon overview
The Papillon dog originated in continental Europe as a companion dog. Also known as the Butterfly Dog from the shape of its ears.
The Papillon enjoys exercise and with correct training can do very well in the obedience arena. The abundance of fine silky hair means it will require diligent grooming, especially the bushy Spitz-type tail. Size makes it an ideal companion dog. But they may tend to become possessive of their owner.
