Manx overview
Developed from the tailless cats of the Isle of Man. Championship status. A sturdy independent breed with a quiet voice. Needs quite regular grooming.

Biological data
Size
Medium to large.
Build
Cobby, but slightly less compact and rounded than a British Shorthair .
Completely tailless. Stumpies (short tailed) and tailed Manx may be bred from but cannot be shown.
Hair quality
Short very thick undercoat with a slightly longer top coat.
Longhaired Manx are sometimes produced and are recognized elsewhere as Cymrics. However, they cannot be shown with the GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy).

Any colour.
Eye colours
Preferably in keeping with coat colour.
Patterns
Any pattern, with the exception of colourpoint.
