Sphynx overview
Sphynx cats can be just as colourful as cats with hair, as the skin comes in a variety of pigments. Without the insulating properties of a coat, the Sphynx is highly susceptible to cold and heat, and must be kept as a house cat. Despite the absence of fur, Sphynx cats require grooming - a sponge down with warm water - to ensure that dander does not build up on the skin. Quiet, loyal, affectionate and sweet-tempered, the Sphynx is ideally suited to a role as a house cat.
