Afghan Hound overview
A graceful elegant breed, with a racing machine hidden underneath. The Afghan needs endless grooming to keep it free of matting. It is friendly and intelligent but has an independent streak. It will take a lot of training and careful handling. Originally they were used for guarding and hunting. A growing band of owners race their Afghans.
