Bedlington Terrier overview
Originates from Coquetdale area and Rothbury Forest in Northumberland. Said to have common roots with Dandie Dinmont Terrier. Quiet disposition but game and can be formidable fighter if roused. Bred to work alone. Good as house dog and loyal to owners.
Original use: surface game, eg hare, rabbit and rats.
Poaching. Claimed to hunt fox and badger.
