Briard overview
A sheepdog originating from France with roots dating back to the 8th century. Requires good training and regular (daily) grooming.
Temperamentally suited to an active family environment. Recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1928.

Male: 62-68 cm (w).
23-27 inches.
Female: 56-64 cm (w).
22-25½ inches.
Colours, markings and patterns
UK
All black, or with white hairs scattered through black coat.
Fawn in all its shades, darker shades preferred. Fawns may have dark shadings on ears, muzzle, back and tail, but these shadings must blend gradually into rest of coat since any demarcation line denotes a bicolor which is not permissible.
May also be slate gray.
USA
All uniform colours, except white.
