Bull Terrier overview
Descendant from the bull baiting dogs of early times. James Hinks is said to have bred first of the breed around 1862 for show and for sport (dog fighting). Bull terriers were also used for badger baiting. Originally all white, colour was re-introduced in the 1930s.
Temperament is good with people but can be difficult with other dogs. They will need a firm hand and an experienced owner.
