Hamiltonstovare overview
The Hamiltonstovare is a striking dog with a Swedish history since 1856. Created by crossing the German Beagle with the English Foxhound and local Swedish hounds. Bred to work alone, tracking and flushing quarry. Its voice is a typical hound bay. The Hamiltonstovare are a friendly breed that prefers the outdoors and demands plenty of exercise.

Colours, markings and patterns
Upper side of neck, back, sides of trunk and upper side of tail black.
Head and limbs, as well as side of neck, trunk and tail brown.
Blaze on upper part of muzzle, underside of neck, breast and tip of tail, together with feet, white.
A mixture of black and brown is undesirable, as is any preponderance of any of the 3 permissible colours.
