Lancashire Heeler overview
Originated in Britain for use in cattle herding. Became extinct when modern transport took over the role of moving cattle to market. The breed was recreated in 1960 using the Welsh Corgi and Manchester Terrier. Does not retain any of the original cattle herding instincts, but is a potential rabbit and rat catcher.
An alert and pleasant companion; makes a good guard dog.
Not readily obedience trained and not always good with children.
Tough, active, stoic breed.
