Yorkshire Terrier overview
Originated in the West Ridings area of Yorkshire and were developed as a pocket-sized dog used by miners for ratting.
Long straight hair requires regular grooming, even if clipped short. Size reduction has brought with it several medical problems, but had little impact on terrier nature of the dog. Typically energetic and dynamic, may need more exercise than its size and delicacy would imply. Makes an ideal companion.

Colours, markings and patterns
Dark steel blue (not silver blue), extending from occiput to root of tail, never mingled with fawn, bronze or dark hairs.
Hair on chest rich, bright tan.
All tan hairs darker at the roots than in middle, shading to still lighter at tips.
